very cool, thanks for posting!

glad to see Holsteins aren't the only ones with the occasional udder attachment issue ;) what kind of production are these girls capable of?

oh, and what kind of ration works for you?

oh, and what kind of ration works for you?Yes, some goats have udder attachment issues. But those in the pictures are partially highly pregnant goats about to give birth to kids. They average 4-5 liters or more in daily milk production. Some do 8ltr or more. They could do even more, but then the cost to production ration becomes unfavorable. Saanen is kind of the Holstein for goats.

Personally I would go for better udder attachment and lose a liter or so, since bad attachment may lead to other health issues, injuries etc.

Yes, if you lose a teat, you only have one teat left!

Cool pictures. It looks like some of those goats give more milk than some of my cows.

It's worthwhile to do a calculation goat vs cow in terms of food consumption per liter milk produced. Working on a comparative table supplemented to the Dairy Goat Breeding Program for Botswana right now. If someone has got reputable articles that deal with the issue, I'd appreciated it.
