Have two fancy heifers out of this bull so far. One has just freshened and one is due any day. I'm very happy with them, I just love these girls! At first I thought I was in for some big trouble. Whenever I'd go out to the hiefer pasture these tri-stars would perk up thier ears, lift thier tails straight in the air and take off running. Once we got these girls in the barn they calmed right down. They're not jumpy, they don't kick, and they go straight to thier stalls without a big hassle. Most importantly they have a beautiful udder and a will to milk!
This is a pic of the heifer that has not freshened yet. Tried to get a good view of her rear udder. (I now realize the pic isn't too fair for the Ayrshire. She's standing next to an extremely leggy Holstein.)

The pic below is of the heifer that has been milking for a couple of weeks.

We did not use any tri star at the farm, but seen a couple at fairs. Koss's had a really nice on at state fair last year. I have a really nice Tuxedo Jr. 2 milking well. OK she was milking well but is now nursing three calves and won't let down for me. My perceval is close to her due date, but she is at the other farm so don't know how she is doing. I am looking into Raven or Poker to breed most my shires to but tri star looks interesting , but isn't he a trident son?? Krause had some decent 2yrs shires for sale if you need milk for Kansas.

Yep Tristar is a Trident son. Would have liked to see more cleft to the rear udder. We are really happy with 7A74 Swedmark daughters. The Kellcrest Avenger daughters have very snug, correct udders, but their frames are too narrow, lacking in chest and muzzle width, too frail for my tastes. Our Herman daughter looks great, the evaluator for Select Slres is also the Ayrshire Classifier for WI N. and he said he would score that Herman at 86 points. But the Hermans do kick. That darn Liberty Hawk blood behind them.
We are going to use a whole slug of Swedmark( Has Dropstad and a Swedish Red in pedigree), and we bred a bunch to a young sire 7A81 Patriot, High type PTA.
*The spotty Ayrshire to the right of dark-colored Tri-Star in 2nd photo is a Kellcrest Avenger daughter.

I have a tri-star out of a Heligo that calved a month ago and is a real good one!
Just wanted to tell you to be a little careful where you use Patriot.I have 3 yearling daughters of his.All 3 have have a very steep slope to thier rumps.
I have a Nolan that just calved with her second calf. She did great as a heifer! Really looks good this time too! Any of you all milked his daughters?
Thanks Ed
